The Manhattan Project

First, we need to explain “date night” ~ every Wednesday night. When Bodil’s daughter, (Larnie’s step daughter), was quite young, a pattern was established that she would spend that night with her father. Wednesday night became a night for drinks, special dinners and intimate time. One night, at the Sklyark Bar in San Francisco, Bodil asked our bartender what he was good at mixing. He unhesitatingly replied “Manhattans”. We were hooked. Manhattans have proved to be the most romantic of drinks.

Hi-Dive on the Water Front $6.25

The Hi-Dive on the Embarcadero at Pier 28 served Manhattans in ICE cold glasses. Yummie. The view of the waterfront is great with windows right on the dock. This place has been here for a while. Probably has a history that I'd like to hear. The Giants were playing at the AT&T stadium just down the street and on TV. Lots of watchers.

Larnie had hiked all day with colleagues in Palo Alto and needed a Manhattan

We decided to eat the turkey burger and fish taco with cold Fat Tire beer.
