T-Rex in Berkeley

Manhattans were expensive - $8.50 - but the bartender used Maker's Mark. Didn't ask for well or top shelf, but poured the best. They tasted good but should have been poured to the edge of the glass for that price. A BIG plus was that they didn't use the super red dyed maraschino cherries instead presented TWO regular marinated cherries. I love those. Won't eat those other cherries so Larnie always ends up with both. I am happy to pay more the the real cherries.

Food was good. Small portions. The restaurant caters to all kinds of people - old, young, families, the white collar and blue collar. They specialize in BBQ which has been marinated and is not covered with a heave sauce for those of us who prefer to eat without that heavy flavor.

May be worth going back for a "smoking barrel" manhattan-like drink of T-Rex Eagle rare single barrel bourbon, marachino liquer, carpano antica formula, barrel aged bitters 10.

Great cherries!
